electric ray® was founded in 1998, by Ivar Abrahamsen and Hans Solgaard. It was then and still is based in Manchester, United Kingdom.
The initial organisation name was Electric Ray Development. The shortened name of eRay was then also used. It was set up as an organisation to develop small commercial web sites. Both founders remained in full time employment with other companies, so the organisation was a spare time vocation.
Hans left the company the following year to concentrate on his own career.
eray then became Ivar's self employed business, and the name became only "electric ray". The business services was extended to represent Ivar's further skills in networking and databases. Web applications is still the core business, but eray's services is no longer restricted to just web sites.
To deliver complete services, eray utilises partners and link up with other business via firefix.org.
eray now also offer mobile phone services. Sms gateway, triggers, billing, etc.
